If you haven’t had a treatment in the last 5 years your home is a ticking time bomb

Beware general home insurance does NOT cover termite damage to structural timbers.

  • Termites have the ability to destroy the wall and roofing timbers of a home within 3 months.
  • Termites cause more damage to homes in Australia than fire, floods and storms.
  • Termites occur throughout mainland Australia, with a high incidence of attack in virtually all urban areas.
  • Independent surveys show that almost 40% of homes are attacked by wood-destroying termites at some stage in their life.

Peace of Mind

Employing a termite expert to protect your property from termites is akin to having insurance.

Our ultimate goal is the long term protection of your property.

Termites have acute survival instincts and can outsmart many types of termite control products.  As pest controllers in Perth, we have years of field-work experience in termite control in a wide variety of circumstances, the knowledge we have gained in this time is reflected in the high-quality products we use.  Many pest controllers in Perth base their product choice on affordability; ultimately these cheaper products prove ineffective. Our products are chosen on merit and effectiveness; not cost.

Active Termites inside your Property

Our course of action for the protection of your property is based on whether we find live termites inside your home or business.   If termites are active inside your property we would advise a two prong approach: a chemical barrier termite treatment in conjunction with a baiting program.  Essentially, this approach is one that both controls and protects your property.

  • Baiting program
  • Non-repellent chemical soil treatment

We do not use repellent soil treatments

Some chemical soil termite treatments do not kill termites instead they repel them.  Termites are able to detect the chemical residues in the soil and avoid them.  Repelling termites more often than not means that they will pop up elsewhere on your property. The relocation of termites to the other parts of your property makes elimination and control a costly, protracted exercise that can limit longterm success.

Non-Repellent Chemical Soil Treatments

“The Defence Shield”

As termite treatment experts in Perth we recommend using non-repellent chemical soil treatments.  For this type of termite treatment we use Termidor (active ingredient Fipronil)

Why we use this product:

  • Fast elimination of termite activity
  • No effect on soil micro-organisms, earth worms and plants
  • Low dose –non-repellent –water based
  • Eco-friendly
  • Kills the nest
  • No obnoxious odour
  • Does not emit airborne residues or fumes
  • Ultra -low hazard to humans, dogs, cats and other mammals
  • Cost effective
  • Undetectable to termites

How this termite treatment works:

The types of termites that damage property live together as colonies in large underground nests.  One colony can contain more than a million destructive termites.

Once termites have located a structure, they tunnel underground through soil, where they secretly enter and then remain hidden within the structure as they destroy it.

The central colony/nest contains a king and queen – soldiers escort the workers as they tunnel through soil that can be sometimes be anywhere up to a 100metre radius of the nest.  Termites have to return to the nest every few days to feed the colony (liquefied timber)

When a non-repellent chemical treatment has been applied to your property, termites travelling through the treated soil areas will collect and transport the chemical back to the central colony.

Contaminated termites returning to the nest feed and interact with non-exposed nest mates.  Termites habitually groom each other as part of their social behaviour; termites that clean chemically exposed termites are then secondarily exposed and killed.  But the elimination process does not just stop there; termites are cannibals and when a termite dies their nest mates eat them; unaware that the nest mate they are consuming has been exposed to a chemical soil treatment, they in turn are killed.  This subliminal chemical transference is why we recommend a non-repellent soil termite treatment; we believe it offers the ultimate protection for your property.
